What happens if I edit survey answer choices or question types?

Warning! Making changes to survey answer choices or question types after a survey has been deployed will have significant and irreversible impacts on the responses data for the survey. Please proceed with caution.

If you modify the text in an answer choice, delete an answer choice, or change a question type from multiple choice to matrix (or vice versa), this will have the effect of removing the original survey answer choice from the system.

After a survey answer choice has been removed, the system is no longer able to relate the question to that answer choice and thus is unable to store the answer data. The data for the original answer choice(s) will simply no longer exist.

If you need to retain the original responses data, be sure to either export the results before making any changes or make the original question hidden and then add a new question with the new answer choices.
