RSVPs and Polls
Polls are a great feature if you need to collect and track simple answers (e.g. Yes/No) without the need to gather additional details
A separate poll link will need to be created for each poll answer you want to track. Then after a recipient clicks a poll link, a confirmation window will display with a brief message.
Each click of a poll link is also recorded in Reports. This means, for example, you could review the reporting details for who clicked each link to view who answered yes or no. Note if a recipient forwards the campaign, any additional clicks will also be recorded under their email address as all links are individually tied to the recipient.
To insert a link to gather simple feedback, such as RSVPs or Yes/No opinion polls:
- Go to the Content step of an in progress campaign.
- Click into the editable area, and select the text or image you wish to link. (If no text or image is selected, the poll answer you enter in step #4 will be used as the link.)
- Click the Link button in the editing toolbar, and click the Poll tab.
- Click the Add Answer button.
- Enter the poll answer you wish to link to in the Poll Answer text box.
- Additional customization options:
- You can modify the heading and message that will appear in the confirmation window after a recipient clicks the poll answer by clicking into the confirmation window box.
- You can modify the text and background color of the confirmation window.
- You can insert a link to an iCalendar (.ics) file by clicking the calendar icon in the confirmation text box.
- Click the Add Answer button.
- Click the Use button to insert the poll in your campaign.
To update/remove a poll answer:
- Click the Link button in the editing toolbar, and click the Poll tab.
- Click the Edit button to the right of the poll answer.
- Make any needed changes, and click the Update Answer button.
- To delete a poll answer, click the Remove button to the right of the poll answer.
TIP: You can also easily follow up with recipients who have not clicked a poll answer by using the Not Clicked report under the Interaction tab and selecting either Resend or Add to Groups from the Perform drop down menu.
If you need additional functionality or customization, you can use our surveys feature. Surveys are a powerful tool that allow you to collect information from your contacts or others who access the URL link for the survey. You can use surveys to setup all types of questionnaires, from simple to complex.
