I am receiving an error message that a template is no longer available. Why am I unable to edit or copy the campaign?

In order to edit or copy a campaign, a user must have access to the template used to create that specific campaign within one of the tabs in their account.

This error message indicates that a user does not have access to the template that was used to create the campaign they are trying to edit or copy.

This is usually because:

  • The campaign was built using a template that has only been shared with certain users. Contact your Administrator to request access to this template or Support for further assistance.
  • The campaign was built using a template that was created by a different user. The user who created the template must share the template with any other user who wants to edit or copy a campaign that was built using that template.
  • The campaign was built using an older template that has since been deactivated or discontinued. Usually these templates have been replaced with a newer version that is available within the tabs in the user's account. The user will need to start a new campaign, and select from one of the active templates that are available.

Without access to the template used to create a campaign, you can still add recipients and send the campaign. You can also proceed to the Preview and Send step to view or manually copy content. If you do choose to copy content from the Preview and Send page into a different campaign, be sure to first paste the content into Notepad or another plain text editor (to remove any legacy HTML code). Then copy and paste from Notepad into your other campaign. This will help to prevent any formatting issues when you try to edit the other campaign.
