Why is my text is not formatting correctly?
Sometimes copying and pasting text in from other sources - such as Microsoft Word, a website, or another campaign - can lead to formatting and other issues within your campaign due to the legacy formatting from the original application or environment. To resolve these issues, we recommend "cleaning" the text through Notepad or another plain text editor. On PCs, Notepad can be found in the Windows Start Menu button in the lower left corner under All Programs > Accessories > Notepad.
To clean your text through Notepad:
- Click on the Notepad program to open a new blank Notepad file.
- Cut all of the text from the affected area in your campaign, and paste it into the Notepad file. (If you are having trouble reading your text after pasting it into Notepad, click Format > Word Wrap.)
- Copy the clean text from your Notepad file, and paste into the editable area in your campaign. Reformat as needed.
This extra step of "cleaning" the text through Notepad will remove any legacy formatting and extraneous HTML code and will allow you to edit the campaign using the regular editing toolbar as normal (e.g. changing font or size, inserting line breaks, etc.).
If you are still experiencing trouble after following the steps above, you may also need to access the HTML for the editable area (by clicking the HTML icon in the editing toolbar), and deleting any extraneous code that could be controlling the specific piece of text. That extraneous code is usually found somewhere above the actual text within the HTML window. Note if you make a mistake while working in the HTML code and delete something that should not have actually been deleted, simply click the Home button in the main navigation menu and discard your changes.
