What are the statistics in the Usage table in Admin?

By default the table shown in Admin for Groups and Clients is set to display "Details" for each group or client. You can change the drop down menu to "Usage" to view high level trends.

The table is split into two halves, Emails and Campaigns:

  • Emails - each individual email sent from the system, where 1 recipient is 1 email.
  • Campaigns - each campaign sent from the system.

The columns within those sections include:

  • Last 30 Days - number of emails/campaigns sent in the past 30 days.
  • 30 Day Average1 - average number of emails sent in a 30 day period.
  • Last 30 Day Growth2 - percent change in the most recent 30 days compared to the 30 day average.
  • Last 12 Months - number of emails/campaigns sent in the past 12 months.
  • All Time Total - number of emails/campaigns sent in all time.

Additional Notes:

1For users with more than 12 months of sending history, this is calculated by taking the number of emails/campaigns sent in the past 12 months, divided by 365, and multiplied by 30. For users who have been sending for less than 12 months, this is calculated by taking the number of emails/campaigns they have sent so far, divided by the number of days they have been sending, multiplied by 30.

2Calculated by taking the number of emails/campaigns sent in the past 30 days minus the average number of emails/campaigns sent in a 30 day period, divided by the average number of emails/campaigns sent in a 30 day period.

3The statistics in this Usage table will vary slightly from emails/campaigns statistics pulled from Activity > Campaign Metrics and custom reports because those metrics include only actual sent campaigns (as they are used for monitoring subscription levels), whereas this Usage table includes campaigns that have had any "send" event occur, including in progress campaigns that have had a test campaign sent. That is why this Usage table should be used as an internal tool to get a high level look at usage and trends. For more detailed analysis, the Activity > Campaign Metrics data should be used.
