Why is a contact marked as opted out even though they did not opt out of my campaigns?

In many cases, this means the contact opted out from all senders at your office/company. Contact Support for additional information about how to opt them back in.

If you are marked as opted out even though you did not opt out of your own campaigns, this is often caused by a campaign being forwarded to someone who then clicks on the unsubscribe link.  Because the unsubscribe link is uniquely tied to the original recipient, the system thinks that it was the original recipient opting out.

To avoid this issue, any new additional recipients can be added to campaigns that were already sent via the Reports section, by selecting the "Send to More..." option from the Advanced drop down menu in the upper right.

To share a campaign with a broader audience, you can also use the View link (select View from the drop down arrow icon next to the campaign's name), and send or post that URL to public locations as it does not contain an unsubscribe link.
