Why are the images not displaying in my campaign?

For a campaign you have sent to yourself, you may not have images or graphic downloading enabled. In Outlook the images will appear as a red X. To enable automatic downloading of images, open the campaign in your email application and look for instructions or buttons to Allow Images, Enable Images or Download Images.

If images are not displaying for other recipients of your campaign, it is usually because their email program has disabled the images as a security feature.

Many email clients, including Outlook and Gmail, disable images by default. These settings are controlled by the recipient's specific email client and settings, so the recipient will need to proactively take steps to either dislay images for that message or for all messages from the sender.

For many email clients, adding the sender to the recipient's safe sender list should allow images to automatically display.

Recipients can also follow the steps below to display images:
  • Outlook - click prompt at the top of the message to download images, or add sender as a safe sender
  • AOL - click prompt at the top of the message to show images either "for this message" or "always for this sender"
  • Gmail - click prompt at the top of the message to either "Display images below" or "Always display images from <email>"
  • Hotmail - click "Show content" at the top of the message
  • Yahoo - click "Shown HTML Graphics" at the bottom of the email
  • Entourage - click prompt at the top of the message to download images, or to automatically download images for contacts stored in your address book go to Preferences > Security > Automatically download
  • iPhone/iPad - under Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Scroll down to the Mail section, and for "Load Remote Images", slide the bar to display ON

Additional Options for Email Administrators and Corporate IT Departments

If your organization runs MS Exchange/Outlook, you can add rules to the group policies on behalf of all users, such as:
  • Enable automatic image downloading for messages from <emailcb.com or your custom sending domain>
  • Route all messages from <emailcb.com or your custom sending domain> to inbox (not junk)
