Why is all of the reporting data in one column after I export and view the file?

This may be due to a setting on your specific machine. We would recommend checking your regional set up to view the reporting CSV files correctly.

  1. Go to the Control Panel on your PC. This can be done by going to Start > Settings > Control Panel.
  2. Look for the regional settings option.
If you have any trouble locating this area please try reading this article:

  3. Choose the option to change the format of numbers.
  4. You may have to click the customize button to reach the numbers tab, but once found you will need to locate the List Separator option and change it to a comma.
  5. Click Apply, and then OK.
  6. Try opening the file in Excel again.

Alternatively you can use the text to column wizard in Excel to help you separate your data into columns. Here is another article that can be helpful in doing this for you: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/214261/en-us

If you still are unable to view the CSV file correctly, please contact your IT department.
