Why is importing from Apple Mail not working?

Generally if you are having trouble using one of the import tools, we would recommend exporting your contacts to a Microsoft Excel (XLS) or Comma Separated Values (CSV) file and then importing them into the system.

However in the case of Apple Mail, we understand exporting contacts is not a straightforward or easy process.
