What happens to a scheduled campaign if the groups or contacts are deleted before the scheduled send?

If a group included on a scheduled campaign is deleted:

In most cases, the campaign will still be sent to the contacts that were included in that group at the time the campaign was scheduled.

The only time the campaign will not be sent to the contacts that were included in that group is if ALL of the following options were selected when the campaign was scheduled under "Advanced":

  • Send to up-to-date contact groups
  • Include new contacts added to groups
  • Exclude contacts removed from groups

Note in this scenario, if the group was the only group that had been selected for the campaign at the time it was scheduled, the campaign will not be sent and the sender will receive an email notice and alert on their home page that their scheduled campaign could not be sent.

If contacts included on a scheduled campaign are deleted:

  • If some of the contacts included on the campaign are deleted, the campaign will not be sent to those deleted contacts. The campaign will still be sent to any other contacts that were not deleted.
  • If all of the contacts included on the campaign are deleted, the campaign will not be sent to any recipients.

Note in this scenario, the sender will receive an email notice and alert on their home page that their scheduled campaign could not be sent.
