Why is there only a limited number of fonts in the drop down menu?
To view the specific fonts used in your campaign, every recipient must have those specific fonts installed on their computer. Different individuals will have different fonts installed on their machines, and this is why a standard list of fonts - often referred to as "web safe fonts" - has been established.
By default, these web safe fonts are the fonts you can choose from in our system, as they are installed on all Windows and Mac machines.
We recommend building all text elements in your campaigns using a selection of these standard web safe fonts. The reason for this is because it helps to ensure your campaign will be able to be viewed correctly by the largest number of recipients.
As an alternative, it is possible to upload text as images to maintain specific formatting for all recipients. However in many cases images are blocked by default, so recipients would not be able to view your key messages. And some corporate spam filters may block or drop messages that do not contain a good balance of actual text and images.
Another alternative would be to add a custom font to your company's settings (please contact us for additional information). For anyone who has that specific font installed, your campaign would appear correctly. However for any recipients who do not have that specific font installed, their machine/mobile device/email program will determine how the font is displayed - which can result in unexpected and unintended rendering and display issues.
