Why is my file not updating even though it has been replaced in the Content Library?
In some cases a corporate network may control the caching of certain items on the web, including for example PDFs and other files, causing them to not refresh or expire (delete) very often. This may be done as a cost-saving solution by reducing the bandwidth required by corporate users as generally that type of content is unlikely to update frequently. If you are seeing this issue across multiple users at your company, we would recommend contacting your IT department and letting them know that it seems the caching that is being done at a network level, most likely via a proxy server, is causing PDF files (or whichever file type you are having problems with) to not refresh even though the content at the URL has changed.
As a workaround in the meantime, you can also manually redirect the URL to force the updated version to appear:
- Click Reports in the main navigation menu.
- Click the campaign title to access its reporting details.
- Go to the Interaction tab, and click on the Links sub-tab.
- Click the down arrow icon next to the PDF link, and select Redirect.
- Append the end of the URL with "?c=f" (excluding quotation marks).
- Click the Redirect button.
