I am receiving an error message when trying to upload an image or a file. How do I fix this?
Most error messages seen while uploading images and files are caused by configuration and network problems that are specific to a computer or network.
If the error message includes a reference such as "IO - Error #...", it indicates an "Input Output (IO)" error message our system received from Flash when trying to upload the file. The Flash technology incorporated within the standard uploader enables such features as the progress bar and being able to upload multiple files at once. Unfortunately however we are not able to determine the specific cause of IO issues. In these cases, the issues that prevent the upload process from completing successfully could be due to the individual computer, the Flash installation, the network, or some combination.
To resolve the issue, an alternate uploader that does not use Flash technology is available (the basic uploader). It operates using the web browser's default file upload functionality.
If an error message occurs when you are trying to upload an image or file, follow these steps:
- Click the Try Basic Uploader button. You will then see a simple dialog box where you can browse to locate and upload the file.
- If the image or file is still not able to uploaded, try opening the file in your photo editing software, go to File > Save As to create a new file with a different name, and then try uploading that file.
- If the new image or file is also not able to be uploaded, or if you are seeing a different error message that does not include a reference to an IO Error, please contact Support.
