Why does my report show some recipients with an extremely large number of clicks?

A very large number of clicks without a corresponding number of views usually indicates that the recipient either copied and pasted the link from their campaign and sent it to additional people from their own email program or posted the link somewhere (such as a website or social media application).

If the high number of clicks are on a PDF file, we are also aware of a known bug with some versions of Adobe Reader where in some cases for recipients opening a PDF file, Adobe Reader will continually re-request the file as it is loading. Our system counts each of those requests as a click. Although the recipient is not physically clicking the file hundreds of times over, our system receives the request for the URL that is tracking the click and thus records a click. Unfortunately there is nothing we can do to control how Adobe Reader requests the PDF file in these cases, so we would recommend simply disregarding the additional clicks for these cases within your reporting details.
