Forward to a Friend
The forward to a friend feature allows your recipients to share the campaign with others.
When a recipient clicks on a link that was created using the forward to a friend feature, a window displays with options for them to forward a link to the campaign from their default email program and/or share the campaign on social networks.
If a recipient clicks on a forward to a friend link, it will be tracked in the campaign's reports under Interaction tab > Forwards. For security and privacy purposes, the system does not track who the campaign was forwarded to. If those individual(s) also click on the link to view the campaign, these views will be included as a part of the total views statistic.
But if a recipient clicks the "Forward" button directly from their email client/application (e.g. Microsoft Outlook, GMail, Hotmail, etc.), there is no way for the system to record that action, and it is not tracked in the campaign's reports under Forwards. However, in this case additional views of that campaign (whether by the original recipient or by those they forwarded to) will still be included as a part of the total views statistic.
To insert a link that allows recipients to forward the campaign:
- Go to the Content step of an in progress campaign.
- Click into the editable area, and select the text or image you wish to link. (If no text or image is selected, the text "Forward to a Friend" will be used as the link.)
- Click the Create Link icon in the editing toolbar, click the Other tab, and select Forward to a Friend.
- Click the Create Link to Forward to a Friend button.
