How can I offer contacts a choice to receive certain emails rather than opting out of everything?
When a recipient clicks the link to unsubscribe, they are given the choice to either opt out from you as an individual sender and/or higher levels within your organization depending on the specific configuration at your company.
This means if they opt out from you as an individual sender they will no longer receive any communications from your account, regardless of the topic.
To offer recipients more choices, some users setup different accounts for different purposes - for example one account for events, one account for marketing materials, one account for research reports, etc. - so that a contact could opt out from marketing but still receive details on events for example.
Our system also offers a Preference Center functionality that allows recipients to manage their preferences by selecting which groups they want be included in, in addition to the current opt out options. However this functionality may not currently be available in your account, as it is often not suitable for companies where there are multiple user accounts sending to the same recipients.
